Laura Silverstein plays fingerstyle guitar and bluegrass banjo. Her guitar style is rooted in the fingerpicking traditions of Merle Travis and Doc Watson and has expanded over the years to include elements of blues, rock, and pop. She has recorded four instrumental guitar albums including her most recent CD “Forbidden Tango,” as well as two albums with High Hills Bluegrass Band, with whom she performed for many years in Southern California. Laura moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2009, where she enjoys playing solo guitar at wineries and art venues. Laura has taught guitar at Puget Sound Guitar Workshop, Northwest Women’s Music Celebration, Women Making Music, Georgia Strait Guitar Workshop, and California Coast Music Camp, and she loves nothing more than helping others to share the music that is within them!
